I can’t believe my baby girl is officially ONE! Luna’s first year flew by, and when it was time to pick a theme for her party, I knew it needed to be something just as sweet as her. My sister-in-law graciously made our cake and cookies, and the remainder of the decorations were extremely affordable finds from Amazon and Walmart. As long as your child’s birthday is filled with love and smiles, it’s perfect. So whether you have a party budget of $10 or $500, don’t worry. Your child will have the best time!
Strawberry First Birthday Party Ideas
Once we settled on strawberry “berry first birthday” theme, I couldn’t resist finding cute invitations. I’m SUCH a sucker for stationery, but it didn’t make sense to spend an arm and a leg on invitations only being sent to a few people. Since I knew I’d also be using it as decor at the party, I still went ahead and purchased an affordable from . I texted the image to friends and family to save on printing and shipping and simply printed out the file and framed it for the party!CLICK TO SHOP STRAWBERRY PARTY INVITATIONS

Strawberry Birthday Party Dessert Table
One of my favorite ways to make a big impact at a party is to have one main display table at the party. Be Still Bakery made this gorgeous strawberry picnic basket first birthday cake along with a coordinating strawberry smash cake and custom strawberry-themed cookies, so they deserved a front and center spot on our dessert table! I used a few different cake stands (including my new ), decorative platters, and cupcake stands to create height in the display, and we added in adorable cake pops from Littlebits Cake Pops that my sister-in-law graciously gifted us for an extra pop of fun.I wanted to make sure strawberries were super prominent on our dessert table, so I bought these adorable round wooden baskets from Amazon. I filled most of the baskets with paper towels, and then I added fresh strawberries on top. The finishing touches were this pretty (), a cute blue gingham table runner, and a super fun pink and white balloon garland.
If you’ve always wanted to make a balloon garland but have been intimidated by either the cost of having one professionally made or the technique involved with making one yourself, I shared exactly how to make DIY balloon garlands in this post. You honestly would not believe how easy it is to create fun balloon arches at home, and you can pick up the kits for a STEAL! I used a pink and white balloon garland kit that was literally under $15 for this party, and it took less than an hour to blow up the balloons, assemble the garland, and hang it up on the wall!

While Luna was the star of the show at the birthday party, this gorgeous strawberry picnic basket cake from Be Still Bakery was definitely a close second. You guys know we LOVE Be Still Bakery (previously known as Unique and Chic Creations) and always book her far in advance whenever we’re having a party. You definitely need to check out her Instagram to see all of her amazing creations, but I’m partial to the adorable cakes and cookies she made for Summer’s Sophie La Girafe first birthday party and Peppa Pig second birthday party! Her custom cakes and cookies are unparalleled in design, quality, and taste, and her attention to small details and customer service is IMPECCABLE. Seriously, if you are in the extended Central Florida area and want the best custom cakes and cookies, Megan is your gal! You can see her work and get in touch with her on Instagram or Facebook.
In addition to the main showstopper cake, Be Still Bakery also created this adorable strawberry smash cake for Luna. SUCH a cute way to celebrate baby’s first bites of cakes as a one year old!
Custom Strawberry Party Cookies
Be Still Bakery also made us these GORGEOUS custom cookies for Luna’s strawberry-themed first birthday party, and they were absolutely perfect and so tasty! As always, she added so many sweet little details that made the cookies total showstoppers! If you’re going to invest in custom cookies, DEFINITELY make them a central part of the party decor! Strawberry Birthday Party Cake Pops
As if her cake and cookies weren’t enough, Megan from Be Still Bakery surprised us with these precious cake pops from Littlebits Cake Pops (find them on Facebook and Instagram) in Ocala, Florida. I previously showcased her amazing cake pop designs in my Lilly Pulitzer Baby Shower post here, and once again, I was blown away by her talent! These cake pops were so tasty, and the designs matched the strawberry party theme perfectly. I highly recommend Littlebits if you’re looking for custom cake pops in Ocala or central Florida!DIY First Birthday Milestone Posters
Luna’s first year went by so quickly, and I really wanted to document some of her milestones from the past twelve months. I found this adorable pink gingham birthday milestone poster template and instantly knew it would be perfect for Luna’s “berry” first birthday party. You simply , customize using free software (literally took me about three minutes), and print out the file on your desired paper.I framed the printed 8×10 image in this cute white floral picture frame, and I think the finished product is so precious! The only thing I wish I’d done is made the file a little later. OF COURSE Luna had to learn two new words and start walking right after I printed the file haha!

The final touch of decor on our strawberry dessert table was fresh and ripe strawberries in these affordable wooden baskets from Amazon, and homemade chocolate-covered strawberries. If you’re looking for the easiest and tastiest chocolate for dipping strawberries (or anything really), I use this brand ALL the time. We literally always have a few bags in our pantry because it tastes great, melts easily, and stays melted for a long time for easy dipping!
Strawberry Picnic Basket Party Favors
In addition to sharing our extra cookies, we created cute mini picnic basket favors for all of Luna’s guests. These small wooden baskets were absolutely perfect, and they double as a great toy for babies and toddlers. Luna and Summer literally played with these baskets with their play food for weeks leading up to the party! They would also be darling for flower girls in a wedding.I originally wanted to line the baskets with these pink gingham cloth napkins, but unfortunately, they were just too big. If you’re using larger baskets, they’d be beautiful! I ended up cutting a few of these pink gingham chair bow sashes into small rectangles, and they were the perfect liners! They’d obviously also make perfect party decor for your strawberry birthday party theme!
Inside the lined baskets, I added jars of (also available in ) and two kinds of strawberry candy wrapped in these clear favor bags. These Strawberry Sour Patch Kids were so cute and yummy in the favors! I just split up this two-pack of bags for our favors (and had a small dish left over for the party), but this 12-pack is a much better deal if you’re having a larger party.I also bought a huge bag of Pink Starbursts and split them up in these clear party favor bags. We sealed these with washi tape, but I wish I’d used this pretty ribbon!

First Birthday Party Time Capsule
The thing that’s surprised me most about being a parent is learning just how many people love your children before they’re even born. It brings me so much joy and peace to know that Luna has dozens of people who love her to pieces, and I want her to know just how much she was loved from the very beginning. That’s why I’ve asked our party guests (just family really) to write a letter to my children on their first birthday. I plan on giving them the letters when they turn 18, and I hope the words will be as special to them as they are to me!
I purchased this adorable from Etsy, and the finished product is so adorable! I used the same white floral picture frame that I used for the milestone poster and added stationery and pens for my guests to write a letter. This listing actually includes adorable matching stationery, but I forgot to print it out unfortunately. Highly recommend this Etsy seller!
