how to find your fashion power items + building confidence
Every woman has insecurities. I don’t care if they’re a supermodel or a famous actress, everyone has something they’re worried about. Whether it’s a giant blemish that’s popped up the day of an important event, a little extra weight that you’re trying to lose, or frizzy hair that refuses to be tamed, we all have something that makes us feel less than 100% confident in our day-to-day life. Unfortunately, when you’re preoccupied with something as inconsequential as the size of your waist, it’s hard to focus on the important things: enjoying your life, having a great time with family and friends, and accomplishing your dreams. That’s why it’s so important to find what I like to call your fashion power items. Your fashion power items will hide your flaws, accent your assets, and make you feel confident and beautiful. If you’ve been following my blog for any amount of time, I’m sure you can guess my power outfit of choice: dresses, dresses, and more dresses!
To me, there’s nothing better than a cute dress. Dresses conveniently hide my problem areas, highlight my assets, and most importantly, allow me to spend exactly thirty seconds styling my outfit. When I’m wearing a dress that’s flattering to my body type, I don’t have to worry about how I look in my outfit. I can simply focus on enjoying the moment and making the most of the day!

I encourage you to search through your closet and find the items that make you look and feel the most confident. Of course I love my dresses, but I’m also partial to anything in bright colors or bold prints. Look for items that have a flattering fit and a high level of comfort! No matter how cute some items may be, you’re not going to look and feel your best if you’re having to re-adjust every few minutes! Sometimes, a quick pop of color from a bright lipstick or a great pair of shoes can completely change your attitude, so don’t forget that little changes can sometimes make a huge difference in your mood. Once you find your fashion power items, you’ll know exactly what to wear when you aren’t feeling the best and need a quick boost of confidence. When you walk through the world confidently, you’re automatically going to look beautiful and spread positive energy.

While finding your fashion power items is a fun part of re-gaining your confidence, remember that confidence doesn’t begin with your outer appearance- it starts from within. Surround yourself with positive, nourishing activities and people that will help you build your confidence and showcase your strengths! Life is so crazy and has a tendency to know you down sometimes, so it’s important to focus on finding little things that help build you back up! Whether your power items are a stylish dress, a great cup of tea, a fantastic book, a powerful yoga class, or an afternoon spent with good friends, remember to take time for the things that build you up and make you look and feel confident and happy!
